1949 Chevrolet Suburban

This 1949 Chevrolet Suburban two-door is a restored utility vehicle with a refurbished interior that offers two rows of Procar seats, a custom audio system, modern instruments, rear backup camera, a Vintage Air A/C system, trailer hitch, and more. The crate-sourced 350ci V8 was installed as part of the build and is paired with a replacement 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Turquoise and Cream with black running boards over a black vinyl interior, this third-generation Suburban is now offered with a clear Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The Suburban full-size utility vehicle evolved into its third generation beginning in 1947 with the design based on the Chevrolet Advance Design pickups of the same era. This example from 1949 was the recipient of a comprehensive restoration with a two-tone Cream over Turquoise respray shadowed by black running boards and complemented by chrome bumpers, grille, headlight rings, handles, and badging. Additional exterior treatment includes a windshield visor, custom side-exit exhaust outlets, barn-style doors, LED taillights, and a hitch receiver at the rear.

Aluminum 15” American Racing wheels with polished lips are wrapped in staggered-width 205/65 front and 275/60 rear Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/T rubber. Handling is assisted by power brakes and power steering.

The interior offers seating for four with two rows of aftermarket Procar bucket seats in black vinyl upholstery and matching materials for the door panels, headliner, and carpeting. The dash is color-matched in turquoise and the steering wheel is an aftermarket three-spoke banjo-style unit. Amenities include power windows, a Vintage Air HVAC system, tinted windows, rearview mirror backup camera, and a custom center console-mounted beneath the dash with a brown weaved enclosure. The audio system features a navigation-equipped modern audio head unit that is connected to speakers in the headliner as well as a rear subwoofer. The spare tire is housed in the cargo compartment and is protected by a vinyl cover.

Instrumentation is delivered by aftermarket Dolphin gauges for a 140-mph speedometer as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. There is a replacement digital odometer, but true chassis mileage is unknown.

The crate 350ci V8 features an aluminum radiator and sends power to the rear wheels via a replacement 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
