Back in 1961, air conditioning was an option, as was a heater, and the purchaser chose just the heater along with a leather interior and several other add-ons.

Regarding fender skirts, they were an option in 1961 on Thunderbirds and the original order for the car did not include them whether for aesthetics or cost ($26.60 in 1961), we don't know. In any event should one want them they are available new in the aftermarket or used at eBay. ...
