540-POWERED 1967 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 396 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 coupe restomod has been driven fewer than 3,000 miles since a body-off restoration in 2005 and has been upgraded with a 540cid Merlin big-block V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes Cragar wheels, Wilwood disc brakes, AutoMeter gauges, a Hurst shifter, electric exhaust cutouts, and a Gear Vendors two-speed under/overdrive system. Finished in Royal Plum and equipped with a black vinyl roof over a black vinyl interior, this Chevelle is offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Royal Plum finish was applied during the restoration completed in 2005 and is complemented by a black vinyl roof. Exterior features include chrome bumpers, quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, rocker and wheel arch moldings, Super Sport badging, and a full-width SS-branded taillight panel. EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

The 15-inch chrome Cragar wheels are wrapped in 235/60R15 front and 275/60R15 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is furnished with black vinyl bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, headliner, and carpeting. Amenities include lap belts, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a heater, an AM/FM radio, a Hurst shifter, and Super Sport badging on the dash.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a factory 120-mph sweeping speedometer, a column-mounted 10,000-rpm AutoMeter tachometer, and factory gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. Auxiliary AutoMeter gauges below the dash show the coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 2,757 miles, which the selling dealer states are the miles added since the restoration was completed.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The Merlin 540cid big-block V8 has been upgraded with MSD ignition components. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a Gear Vendors two-speed under/overdrive system.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle is equipped with a Hotchkis suspension and sway bars, four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, and a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and electric cutouts.
