454-Powered 1966 Chevrolet C10

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Chevrolet C10 Stepside underwent a complete frame-off restoration within the last year and has been upgraded with power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, and 20-inch Ridler wheels. Power comes from a fuel-injected 454cid big-block V8 mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a center console, Classic Instruments gauges, an Alpine stereo, and custom taillights. Finished in red over a black vinyl and gray microfiber interior, this first-generation C/K-series C10 comes with touch-up paint and British Columbia, Canada registration.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free exterior received new red paint during the restoration process. The cargo bed is lined with gray-stained oak planks and polished retention hardware. Exterior features include gray accent pinstriping, a chrome front bumper, a color-matched grille, dual mirrors, a bed-mounted fuel cell, a rear roll pan, custom taillights, an embossed tailgate, and a dual exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Ridler 20-inch multi-spoke aluminum wheels with polished outer lips are wrapped in staggered-width Falken Azenis FK510 tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-seat cab is fitted with black vinyl and gray perforated microfiber buckets, split by a custom center console and matched to the door panels, carpeting, and floor mats. Amenities include power steering, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a gray carpeted dash mat, and an Alpine stereo.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The Classic Instruments gauges include a 140-mph speedometer and supporting readouts for the coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 5,271 miles, indicative of the mileage accrued after the restoration was completed. The true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The fuel-injected 454cid big-block V8 received an oil change in April 2023. Power is sent to the back wheels via a floor-shifted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73:1 rear end.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping power comes from power-assisted disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.
