OVERVIEW
This 1,020-mile 1998 BMW Z3 2.8 convertible is a 100 percent original time capsule, according to the selling dealer. It is powered by a 2.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. After being in Oklahoma for over two decades, it was relocated to Florida in 2022. Highlights include fog lamps, a two-tone cockpit, Harman Kardon audio, and power convenience features. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and equipped with a power black soft top over a red leather interior, this Z3 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Arctic Silver Metallic (309) exterior features a power-operated black cloth retractable top with a plastic rear window, fog lamps, vented fenders, side marker indicators, and a trunk-mounted third brake lamp. The selling dealer notes that there is a minor impression on the underside of the front bumper.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The aluminum 17-inch Style 18 wheels are wrapped in 225/45 front and 245/40 rear Michelin Pilot SX tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-tone, two-seat interior is trimmed with red leather seat upholstery and black materials for the door panels, center console, dash, and carpeting. Amenities include glossy woodgrain trim, a Harman Kardon AM/FM/cassette radio, air conditioning, power windows, cruise control, dual roll hoops, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation consists of a 155-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 1,020 miles, which is in line with the most recent figure of 1,019 miles logged on the CARFAX report in April 2022.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The unmodified M52B28 2.8-liter inline-six was rated at 189 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque when new. The most recent service per the CARFAX report was in April 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The selling dealer has posted a road test video below.
