OVERVIEW
This 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible has undergone an inside-and-out restoration in 2006. Power comes from a numbers-matching 383ci V8 mated to a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power retractable top, power brakes and steering, air conditioning, and dual exhaust system. Finished in White with a blue vinyl interior, this 1965 Sport Fury convertible is offered on consignment by the selling dealer with owner’s manual, fender skirts, and clear West Virginia title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The White (code W) exterior was reapplied in 2006 during restoration. Exterior features include stacked quad headlights, chrome brightwork, side-view mirrors, dual exhaust system, and color-matched power-retractable top with plastic rear window.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
14-inch Magnum 500-style wheels are wrapped in newer Hankook Kinergy tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The refurbished blue interior (code P4B) features front bucket seats. Other features include a center console, air conditioning, push-button radio, tinted glass, and vinyl-lined trunk with spare tire.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, Equus tachometer, clock, and gauges showing fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer reads 13,632 miles, which reflects mileage since restoration. The selling dealer states that true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly numbers-matching Commando 383ci V8 has been rebuilt and features a four-barrel carburetor and upgraded exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Handling is assisted by power steering and newer power drum brakes. The suspension uses a torsion bar design up front and leaf springs out back.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes an owner’s manual and color-matched uninstalled fender skirts. A $125 dealer fee will be added to the final selling price. A video has been provided which includes a start-up, a convertible top demonstration, and an exterior/interior walk-through.
