Vehicle Story

This 1965 Shelby Cobra replica was built by Superformance. A highly accurate replica and the only ones built under license from Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. The build on this one-owner car was completed in 2004 and titled as such. Since then, the car has been stored indoors during the winters. Equipment includes jet-coated headers and side pipes, an oil cooler, independent front and rear suspension, 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes, quick jack racing bumpers, wind wings, a heater, and a tonneau cover. Finished in red over a black interior, the car is offered with a clear New York title in the seller’s name.

Cobra staples such as a hood scoop, roll bar, side pipes and racing-style fuel cap are all present. Lots of chrome featured on this build, the quick jack racing bumpers front and rear, headlight trim, windshield frame, and roll bar, side pipes and fuel cap all plated in it. Two white racing stripes stretch over the whole car.

The Cobra rides on accurate and aluminum Halibrand style 15" wheels with knockoffs. These wheels are wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GT II 255/60/15 tires in front and 275/60/15 tires in the rear. Behind them are 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Handling is assisted by independent front and rear suspensions with sway bars front and rear.

The interior is outfitted in black with bucket seats finished in leather, black seatbelts, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an original style shifter mounted in the carpeted center console, door panels with pockets for storage, a heater, and working windshield wipers. In the rear, the inside of the trunk is also carpeted.

Smiths’ analog gauges line the dash. Featuring a 180-mph speedometer with a counterclockwise sweep and a large tachometer additional gauges include water temperature, oil temperature, amperage, fuel level, and oil pressure. The odometer reads approximately 2,300 miles, which is since completion of the build.

A Ford Racing 351ci Windsor V8 engine breaths through side pipes with glasspack style mufflers and is equipped with many aluminum parts, including the SVO heads, air cleaner, Ford Racing valve covers. Engine power is routed to the rear through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch and an 8.8” posi-traction rear end with a 3.73:1 gear ratio. The air and fuel mixture is managed by a Holley 4-barrel carburetor with vacuum secondaries and an electric choke. Cooling is handled by an aluminum radiator. The seller reports the car received an oil change in May of 2021.

The front and rear suspension are comprised of unequal length A-arms and adjustable coilovers. Additional images of the underside are available in the photo carousel.

Some service records are available with the car.

Car is in pristine shape. Yes the car would drive from NY to Atlanta but its too nice of a car to drive all that way. This car should be shipped! Thats how nice it is! Everything in this car works perfectly. Please I encourage you to do your research, this car made by Superformance and is the only authorized builder by Carroll Shelby Inc. Thats how high of a caliber car this is. Thanks for your bids.
