No Reserve: 1963 MG MGB

This 1963 MG MGB roadster is a numbers-matching original car documented by a Heritage Certificate, and it was the recipient of a two-year restoration completed in 2010 under prior ownership.  It is finished in red over a black vinyl interior and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission.  Located in Winston Salem, North Carolina, this MGB is now offered on a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car is painted red and was the recipient of a rolling restoration between 2009 and 2010, which involved taking the surface down to bare metal.  The floor pans, sills, and rocker panels were replaced at the time of restoration.  A black retractable cloth top with a plastic rear window is equipped, and chrome accents are found for the headlight trim rings, front & rear bumpers, grille, windshield trim, and side moldings.  The right turn signal does not work, and the photo gallery shows some cracking on upper paint surfaces.  The car has a single exhaust outlet at the left rear. 

Factory 14” wire wheels are mounted to tires with good tread. A full-size spare is located in the trunk

The interior is fitted with new black carpeting and black vinyl bucket seats with matching black carpeted floor mats installed in each footwell.  A three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim is equipped, and additional features include a heater and a lockable glove compartment. The factory 4-spoke banjo steering wheel is included in the sale.

Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and 7k-rpm tachometer, along with accompanying gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature.  The tachometer does not work.  The vehicle has a 5-digit odometer, and true mileage is unknown. 

The 1.8-liter inline-4 is original to the vehicle and was factory-rated at 98 hp and 110 lb-ft of torque when new.  Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission with a floor-mounted shift lever. The seller indicates that there is no syncro in second gear. 

The underside had been previously undercoated at some point in the vehicle's life. Additional underside photos are available in the gallery.
