RESERVE REMOVED: 1980 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 coupe was built at Chevrolet's Van Nuys, California plant and sold new at a Des Moines, Iowa dealership. It has been collector-owned for several years and has always been stored in the winter. Power is provided by the reportedly original LM1 350cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include newer BFGoodrich tires and shocks, power steering and brakes, a tilt steering column, air conditioning, a cowl-induction hood, and a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette radio. Finished in red with red, orange, and yellow striping over an upgraded tan vinyl interior, this Camaro comes from the selling dealer with the original sales invoice, an owner’s manual, a warranty brochure, service records, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Initially finished in dark brown, the exterior has been refinished in red. Features include a Z28 stripe package, color-keyed bumpers, a front spoiler, a black grille with black headlight and marker light bezels, a black hood stripe, a cowl-induction hood scoop, color-keyed sport mirror housings, color-matched rear wheel spats, a rear spoiler, and Z28 emblems. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of red 15-inch Camaro Z28 wheels is wrapped in 225/70/R15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with 2021 date codes.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The original tan cloth interior has been upgraded to tan vinyl. Features include a manual remote driver-side mirror, power steering, a tilt steering column, air conditioning, a Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo, manual windows, and a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter. According to the selling dealer, the air conditioning needs to be serviced.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

An 85-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, battery, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 39,500 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original LM1 350cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer states that an oil change was completed in 2022.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Camaro was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. A new set of shocks has been installed.
