Vehicle Story

This Henry Ford Steel body 1930 Ford Model A coupe is a performance-tuned hot rod that was professionally built in 2005 and features an all-new $10,000 suede interior, Stewart Warner instrumentation, and new Coker wheels and tires. Its powertrain is centered around a Chevrolet 350ci V8 that bears ceramic-coated headers and an aluminum intake, with power being delivered via a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in green metallic over a custom black interior, this Model A is now offered with a clear Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

This Model A rides on a boxed custom frame and an original Ford steel body, wearing a professionally applied paint job from top to bottom. The comprehensive build was completed in 2005 and incorporated the use of an open-cowl front-end design with fully-polished suspension architecture, chromed headlight surrounds, a color-matched windshield visor, dual side view mirrors, a fender-less rear tire layout, slim taillamps, and more. A dual-outlet polished exhaust system is installed at the rear

Chrome-finished 15” Coker wheels with center caps are shod in an all-new staggered tire setup, with Coker 875 Firestone “cheater slick” whitewalls mounted on 10” wide wheels at the rear and Coker blackwalls on 5” wide wheels upfront. Handling is provided by a custom suspension with a six-inch drop front axle and a four-link adjustable Coilover setup at the rear. Power brakes were installed as part of the build, with discs up front and drums in the rear.

The interior was professionally redone in winter 2020 for $10,000 which included new upholstery, a custom suede headliner, and matching suede door panels in black. This hot rod is equipped with true Model A interior infrastructure that has been modified, including a chopped seat frame for a lower-profile aesthetic. The dash is color-matched in green to match the exterior, and the build also included the installation of black carpeting topped by aftermarket Moon Eye floor mats.

Instrumentation is comprised of aftermarket gauges from Stewart Warner, with an Autometer Moon Eye tachometer mounted atop the dashboard and a series of accompanying white-faced gauges along the dash face. The digital odometer reads 17,805 miles which reflects the actual miles driven since the completion of the build according to the seller.

The Chevrolet 350ci V8 has received performance enhancements including an aluminum intake 3x2 carburetor and ceramic-coated headers with removable exhaust plugs. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a GM Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission with a 9” Ford rear end.
