Vehicle Story

This 1970 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is a three-owner, largely original example that has been with the seller for the past 20 years and shows under 34k miles. Finished in Donnybrook Green over black this C3 is powered by an LS5 454ci V8 paired with an M21 4-speed manual gearbox. Optional equipment includes a transistorized ignition, power brakes, an auxiliary hardtop, deluxe wheel covers, AM/FM radio, and more. The third-generation car is offered with its original owner's manual and sales brochure, ownership history and matching Protect-O-Plate, past certificates of title, and a clear Delaware title in the seller's name.

The body is finished in factory-applied Donnybrook Green (982) paint with "454" and "Stingray" badges, and all glass is original. Chrome bumpers and mirrors are fitted and two tops - a black soft top and a C07 body-matching hardtop - will go with the car. The seller notes paintwork on the center of the big block hood, which was performed under prior ownership.

14" P02 Deluxe Wheel Covers are wrapped in new 225/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial Redline tires and the original chrome luggage rack is fitted to the deck lid. Photos showing the condition of the body are provided in the gallery.

The black vinyl interior features the factory shifter, crank windows, seat belts, and Ziebart insulation/weather-proofing. The spare tire, jack, and jack tools are original to the car.

The 5-digit odometer inside the 160-mph speedometer shows just under 33,700 miles, approximately 7k of which have been added in the past 20 years. The seller claims that the total mileage is original and accurate. Other features housed within the black dash are a 7k tachometer, heat/vent controls, and a U69 AM/FM radio.

Power is provided by an LS5 454ci V8 that produced 390 horsepower when new, and it is mated with an M21 Muncie 4-speed manual gearbox, both of which are matching-numbers original. Additional equipment includes a transistorized ignition, factory air cleaner, and braided wires, and a battery with a "9/19" date stamp is located in the trunk. The fan belt, fan clutch, lower radiator hose, and thermostat were replaced at 32k miles, an oil and filter change and chassis lube were performed at 32.5k, and the prior owner rebuilt the carburetor.

The fuel tank was dropped for inspection when the seller acquired the car, at which time both mufflers were replaced. Later work included replacement of the clutch pressure plate throw-out bearing at 29k miles. Stopping power is provided by J50 power brakes, which were refreshed with new calipers under previous ownership.

The original owner's manual and sales brochure, ownership history, and Protect-O-Plate, build sheet, and copies of past titles will go with the car.

Just checking, what isn’t original on this and what doesn’t work or in need of repair? Over the last 20 years you’ve only driven it the 7,000 miles, the description says claims it only has 33,000 total miles. How confident are and any evidence of the mileage being actual? Thanks for your time! Nice car!
