Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1990 Jaguar XJS convertible has been driven 89,000 miles since new and receives power from a 5.3-liter V12 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. It has been garage-kept in the same family for the last seven years and comes equipped with chrome exterior trim, 19-inch wheels, automatic climate control, disc brakes, and a modified exhaust system. Finished in white and equipped with a black cloth power-retractable top over a tan leather interior, this XJS is now offered with owner’s booklets, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The white exterior features a chin spoiler, quad headlights, chrome brightwork, bodyside moldings, and a trunk-mounted third brake lamp. The seller notes dings on the driver side of the hood, behind the driver-side door, and below the bumper on the passenger side.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

The 19-inch BMW aluminum wheels are wrapped in 255/35 Michelin tires that were installed in 2016.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-seat cabin is configured with manually-adjustable tan leather bucket seats, which are matched to the door panels and center console. Features include aluminum sill plates, carpeted floor mats, wood veneer trim, power windows, central locking, power steering, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, and a rear window defroster. There are tears in the driver seat upholstery and the woodgrain trim is cracked as shown in the gallery to the right.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and supporting gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 89,000 miles. The most recent mileage figure logged on the CARFAX report in 2017 was 88,999 miles.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 5.3-liter SOHC V12 was rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new. The water pump was replaced in December 2023. The seller notes that the factory exhaust has been modified. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Stopping power comes from anti-lock disc brakes.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report begins in 1990 and shows accident-free ownership in Florida and North Carolina. Owner’s booklets will come with the purchase of the car.
