Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1971 Ford F100 Custom received more than $20,000 in repairs and restoration, according to the seller. It is powered by a resealed 360ci V8 backed by a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power brakes and steering, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, a new steering wheel and upholstery, rebuilt power drum brakes, a PerTronix electronic ignition, and new cab glass. Finished in two-tone green with a patina over a dark green vinyl interior, this F100 is available now and comes with receipts and a clear title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior is finished in two-tone green with a patina and a matte clear coat. Features include a chrome front bumper, a gray grille, a fender-mounted antenna, door logos, dual folding rearview mirrors, bright side trim, new front and rear cab glass, a long Styleside pickup box, new weatherstripping and glass seals, and a silver rear bumper. The seller states that some of the side trim has been replaced and the electrical system functions perfectly, including the reverse lights and trailer towing wiring.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of cream powder-coated 15-inch steel wheels is wrapped in new 265/75/15 Mastercraft Courser HSX Tour radial tires. According to the seller, the powder coating and the tires have less than 200 miles on them.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bench seat has been rebuilt and reupholstered in dark green vinyl. Features include power steering and brakes, a black armrest with cup holders, a new two-spoke steering wheel, a column-mounted automatic shifter, an AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo with a subwoofer, manual windows, a new black rubber floor covering, a refurbished OEM fuel tank, a new heater core, and a new heater control valve. The seller states a small rust hole under the heater core was repaired when the heater core was replaced. A new headliner, new window crank handles, and new window track felt has also been installed and the window lift assemblies have been serviced. All the interior electrical systems function properly.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, alternator, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. With 10,000 miles logged during current ownership, the odometer reads 132,000 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 360ci V8 engine equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and backed by a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. The engine has been resealed and several new parts have been installed, including the gear-drive starter, water pump, headers, aluminum radiator, brake master cylinder, and PerTronix electronic ignition. A compression test has been performed on the engine and all cylinders are within five pounds of each other. All fluids have been changed within the last 90 days.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums with new brake shoes, wheel cylinders, springs, and hardware. A new dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that all suspension bushings have been replaced, the braking system has been rebuilt, and a new driveshaft has been installed. In addition, the rear end has been rebuilt and fitted with new bearings and seals.

@mkp20000 – This is a very nice truck. The only real question is why it has the 1972 grill (8 windows) in stead of the correct 1971 grill (12 windows). That’s an obvious detail that is incorrect, and I didn’t see references in the details. Good luck on the sale, nice old truck! ...

Its what was available to purchase for this year truck. Simple fix if they exist . Since there are many things on the truck that are not period correct I dont feels its a relevant issue. Fuel injection, headers, dual exhaust, better valve covers, 900 dollar lithium battery. Truck was not done to be exactly correct on any front. Thanks for the comment and input
