Vehicle Story
This 1966 Oldsmobile 442 convertible is finished in Astro Blue with a blue soft top over a blue vinyl interior. Having undergone a full restoration, the convertible is powered by a 455ci V8 with an added L69 Tri-Carb Performance package and backed by a close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission. Features include power brakes, steering, convertible top, Hurst shifter, halogen headlights, and W30 style inner fenders. Located in Annandale, Minnesota, this 442 convertible is now offered by the selling dealer on a clean Minnesota title.
The body is finished in Astro Blue and equipped with a power-operated dark blue soft top. The front features quad headlights with polished bezels and 442 badging in the grille, along with "OLDSMOBILE" lettering on the hood. Polished trim runs down the car's side and along with the wheel wells while vents are featured in the fenders. Additional 442 badging is found on the rear quarter and decklid, while the factory dual exhaust is equipped with polished tips.
The Five-spoke Rally wheels are finished in black with polished face and are wrapped in Wide Oval Super Sport red stripe tires. Power-assisted discs handle braking on the front with drums on the rear.
The interior is equipped with front bucket seats upholstered in blue vinyl with a matching rear bench seat. The door panels are upholstered to match the seats, while the carpeting and dash pad are a darker shade of blue. Controls for the AM radio and heater system are located on the dash, surrounded by a silver trim plate, while the chrome shifter for the 4-speed manual is mounted on the floor.
The instrument panel features two round pods with a 120mph speedometer housed in one. A tachometer and readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are housed in the other. 700 miles show on the odometer since the restoration, though true mileage is unknown.
Under the hood sits the 455ci V8 powerplant, featuring an added L69 Tri-Carb Performance Package, which added three 2-barrel Rochester 2GC carburetors on a progressive linkage. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M21 close-ratio 4-speed manual transmission, which features its factory original Hurst shifter. The engine bay's cosmetics were also addressed during the restoration with the addition of red W30 style inner fenders. Simultaneously, the block, heads, intake manifold, and value covers are finished in the factory-correct shade of gold.
