Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored and reportedly numbers-matching 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible has been with the seller for seven years and is powered by a 327ci V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, a Vintage Air climate control system, side pipes, knock-off wheels, power windows, and a Stinger hood. Finished in black with a black soft top over a saddle vinyl interior, this garage-kept C2 Corvette is available now and comes with a clear Florida title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in black during the frame-off restoration 15 years ago. Features include chrome bumpers, hide-away headlights, a Stinger hood with silver stripes, a driver-side mirror, a folding black convertible top, side pipes with rocker trim, and a rear-mounted antenna.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch turbine-style knock-off wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich Silvertown Goldline radial tires. The seller states that the tires are new.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in saddle vinyl. Features include power windows, power steering and brakes, a Vintage air climate control system, a three-spoke steering wheel with a teak-rim steering wheel, an AM/FM stereo, a center console, and a color-matched convertible top boot.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, battery, water temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. With 700 miles added during ownership, the odometer reads 4,700 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller states that the odometer was reset 15 years ago when the power steering and brakes were installed.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a reportedly numbers-matching 327ci V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include cast aluminum valve covers, an aluminum intake, a chrome air cleaner, and a chrome distributor cover.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Corvette was factory-equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. The exhaust flows from cast iron manifolds out through the side pipes.

@Rmartin – Just a Corvette novice so asking question before my bid. One pictureshowed a trim tag that appeared to have a M-M code. Not sure but think that could be paint code for 1965 models - meaning Milano Maroon. Could this 65 be an original maroon w/black interior? Help from more knowledgeable - appreciated. ...

Yes, M-M was the exterior color code for Milano Maroon. Unfortunately, the interior color code is not shown in the photos. The interior could have been any of five options in 1965. Yes, it could have been Black or even the existing Saddle color.

Will the seller accept trades? two (2) 1999 Plymouth Prowler convertibles, low mileages, one (1) silver & one (1) purple both under 20,000 miles, air, power, automatics- two (2) 2004 Chrysler Crossfire coupes, one (1) black and one (1) graphite (gray) both air, power, automatics, -one (1) 1932 Ford Roadster, 427 GM big block V8, automatic, 2-4 barrel carburetors mounted on a high rise rise intake manifold. Beautiful vehicles in a 79 year old private collectors collection. I'll trade any 3 of these worth at least $75,000 for this 'Vette. Cars located near Houston, Texas. 77406 zip code.
