Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This restored 1948 Ford Convertible has been with the seller for 20 years and is powered by a 239ci flathead V8 engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include a folding convertible top, a 12-volt electrical system conversion, an AM/FM radio with CD player, a heater, and a spotlight. Finished in red with a tan convertible top over a tan brown vinyl interior, this Ford is available now and comes with a Connecticut Registration Credential document.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior was refinished in red during the restoration process completed in 2003. Features include chrome bumpers, chrome grille trim, stainless steel side moldings, and a tan convertible top with a plastic rear window. The seller states that there are two tears in the convertible top behind the rear side windows.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of red steel wheels with chrome dog dish hubcaps and trim rings is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bench seat, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in tan brown vinyl. Features include manual steering, brakes, and windows; an AM/FM radio with CD player; a column-mounted manual shifter; a cream steering wheel with a full-circle horn ring; and an electric spotlight.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, battery, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 15,474 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 239ci flathead V8 and backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Underhood features include a 12-volt electrical system conversion, a two-barrel carburetor, a body-color firewall, an accessory oil filter, headers, dual exhaust, Pertronix electronic ignition conversion, poly fuel tank and a chrome air cleaner.

UNDERCARRIAGE
