OVERVIEW

This 1951 GMC Panel Truck is powered by a new Chevrolet 350ci V8 engine with 190 miles backed by a rebuilt TH 400 automatic transmission. EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The exterior has been finished in matte black about four years ago, and features chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a chrome hood ornament, a louvered hood, a windshield visor, dual rearview mirrors, and black running boards with stainless trim.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of new chrome steel wheels, with new chrome moon hub caps, is wrapped in new staggered size radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The front bucket seats and matching rear seat are upholstered in gray cloth. The new rear cargo area panels, headliner, and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl with a diamond pattern covering soundproof insulation. Features include black carpeting on the front floor area, a new full width black rubber floor mat, and new black rubber and carpeted floor mats. The rear cargo floor is natural wood. Additional features include a chrome heater box, manual windows, power brakes, manual steering, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a tilt steering column, a black finished steel dashboard, and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo with a GMC logo and new body wiring and LED lighting.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A new set of white face Auto Meter gauges includes a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge with the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage is mounted ahead of the driver. An Autometer 8K-rpm tachometer is mounted to the top of the dashboard. The digital odometer shows 176 miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a new Chevrolet 350ci V8 engine with 176 miles backed by a rebuilt TH 400 automatic transmission. Underhood features include a stainless-steel firewall panel, chrome Edlebrock valve covers, an new Edlebrock aluminum intake, and an Edlebrock open element air cleaner, new battery and new alternator. A video of the engine running can be seen below.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The original chassis has been fitted with an independent Mustang II style front suspension with coil springs and a manual rack and pinion steering. The rear axle is a solid GM 10-bolt drive axle mounted with leaf springs. A new full-length dual exhaust exits at the rear. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums.
