Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This three-owner 1967 Buick GS400 convertible was made in the third week of September of its model year at GM's Leeds Assembly plant in Kansas City, Missouri and sold by Graham Buick of Omaha, Nebraska. It is reportedly one of 2,140 GS400 convertibles produced for the 1967 model year. According to the selling dealer, it is a numbers-matching car equipped with a 400ci V8 and a Super Turbine 400 three-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. Features include chrome bumpers, power steering and brakes, and factory Magnum 500-style wheels with BFGoodrich tires. Refinished in Aquamarine with a white soft top over a black vinyl interior, this rust-free Buick A-body is available now and comes from the selling dealer with the original sales agreement, owner's manual, and Protect-O-Plate; a black vinyl convertible top boot; the uninstalled factory radio and speaker; and a clear Arizona title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

Under previous ownership, the exterior was repainted in factory-correct Aquamarine (paint code K). It comes equipped with chrome bumpers, dual vents on the hood, a driver-side remote mirror, bright trim, and a power-operated white soft top. One of the videos below shows an exterior walkaround.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of factory Magnum 500-style wheels and BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires connect this car to the road.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

The black vinyl interior features front bucket seats, a rear bench seat, vinyl and carpeted door panels, and a black dashboard and center console with metallic trim. Conveniences include vent windows and power steering and brakes. The selling dealer reports there is some fading on the rear carpeting. The carpeted trunk contains a spare tire with a matching cover.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

Vehicle information is displayed on a gear selection indicator, 120-mph speedometer, fuel gauge, and more. An auxiliary readout is mounted under the dashboard. According to the selling dealer, the five-digit mechanical odometer shows 119,111 miles.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The selling dealer states this GS400 is a numbers-matching car equipped with its original carbureted 340-horsepower 400ci V8 and Super Turbine three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include a Star Wars-style air cleaner, chrome valve covers, and a Holley carburetor. Maintenance by their dedicated mechanic is reportedly up to date. The second video below shows a cold engine start.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Additional photos of the underbody, including the independent front suspension, dual-exhaust system, and solid rear axle, are available in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The Arizona title from the previous owner shows 115,200 actual miles. The original sales agreement, owner's manual, and Protect-O-Plate; a black vinyl convertible top boot; and various uninstalled parts, such as the original radio with speaker, and rear floor mats, will be included with the sale.

Hello to all bidders, during the auction I heard from the original owners of the Buick GS400. They have asked me to forward the new owner their contact information and have photos and other information connected to the car. Good luck, it’s a great car, with incredible history!
