Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1972 Ford Maverick is powered by a rebuilt 1991 5.0-liter V8 engine backed by a rebuilt Ford AOD automatic transmission. Features include manual front disc brakes, an electronic ignition, manual steering, air conditioning, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. Refinished in Fathom Green with black stripes over a black and gray cloth interior, this Maverick is available now and comes from the seller with receipts and a Restored Salvage Arizona title.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

The VIN on this Maverick indicates that it was built originally as a Grabber, but no Grabber parts are currently on it. Following an accident, the driver-side fender, hood, grille, and front valance were replaced. The exterior was refinished in Fathom Green in 2020. Features include chrome bumpers, black stripes, a driver-side mirror, and pop-out quarter windows. The seller states there are defects in the paint on the cowl and the front of the driver-side door.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 12-hole aluminum wheels is wrapped in radial tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

A pair of late-model front bucket seats and the reupholstered matching rear seat are upholstered in black and gray cloth. Features include new black carpet; gray cloth door panel inserts; manual windows, steering, and brakes; air conditioning; a column-mounted automatic shifter; a digital AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth; and a black dashboard with a black top pad.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and fuel gauge are mounted ahead of the driver. An aftermarket coolant temperature gauge is mounted under the dashboard. With 264 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 24,223 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 1991 5.0-liter V8 engine backed by a rebuilt Ford AOD automatic transmission. Underhood features include blue stamped steel valve covers, a blue air cleaner housing, and an aluminum radiator.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Maverick was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. A full-length dual-exhaust system with glasspack mufflers exits at the rear. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. According to the seller, they purchased this vehicle back from the insurance company after the accident and a collision shop inspected and approved the frame. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The seller will include receipts with the sale of the vehicle.

What's with the location of the parking brake? What happened to the part of the dashboard that was removed to put the parking brake there?
