Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1984 Chevrolet El Camino IROC-S pace truck replica is powered by a 305ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Features include power windows, a remote driver’s mirror, a tilt steering column, a vinyl tonneau cover with a Chevrolet logo, a chrome roll bar with amber lights, chrome bed rails, a hood scoop, and ground effects with side-exit exhaust outlets. Refinished in a red, white, and blue Choo Choo Customs IROC-S paint and trim package over a maroon cloth interior, this El Camino is available now and comes with vehicle documentation, a build sheet, a 2021 appraisal, documents related to the Choo Choo Customs conversion, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

EXTERIOR - FEATURES

This is reportedly the only 1984 El Camino to have been converted by Choo Choo Customs into an IROC-S pace truck replica. The exterior was refinished in 1990 with a white base color with blue and red stripes. Features include a Monte Carlo SS-style front bumper with quad headlights and a chin spoiler, a hood scoop, color-keyed sport mirror housings with a manual remote driver-side mirror, IROC-S door emblems, rocker ground effects, and side-exit exhaust outlets. Additional features include chrome bed rails, a chrome roll bar with amber warning lights, a red vinyl snap-on tonneau cover, and a chrome rear bumper.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The original set of 12-hole polished aluminum wheels is wrapped in the original Goodyear Eagle GTII tires.

INTERIOR - FEATURES

A split bench seat with folding center armrests is upholstered in maroon cloth. Features include maroon carpet, maroon vinyl door panels with aftermarket power windows, a column-mounted automatic shifter, a maroon padded dashboard with simulated woodgrain trim, and a tilt steering column.

INTERIOR - GAUGES

Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. With 300 miles added during current ownership, the five-digit mechanical odometer shows 92K miles, which the seller believes to be accurate. The last mileage figure entered on the CARFAX report in April of 2022 was 91,407 miles.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 305ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. The seller notes that an oil change was completed in May of 2022.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This El Camino was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report starts in May of 1989 and shows an accident-free history with ownership in Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and Massachusetts. The seller will include vehicle documentation, a build sheet, a 2021 appraisal, and documents related to the Choo Choo Customs conversion.
