Vehicle Story

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a frame-off rotisserie restoration powered by a 283ci Power Pack V8 backed by an automatic transmission. Features include an AM radio, manual steering and brakes, a heater, Flowmaster exhaust hardware, and fender skirts. This bronze Bel Air with a white roof over a cream vinyl and black cloth interior is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

During the restoration, the exterior was finished in bronze with a white roof. Features include chrome bumpers, dual headlights, gold hood trim, electric windshield wipers, a fender-mounted antenna, color-matched rear wheel skirts, dual taillights, and reverse lights.

A set of steel wheels finished in bronze with full hub caps is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.

The front bench seat, rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in cream vinyl with black cloth inserts. Features include bronze carpeting with bronze rubber floor mats, manual windows, a column-mounted automatic shifter, and a bronze steel dashboard with an AM radio and accessory clock.

A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are mounted in a body-color panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 10K miles but the true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

Power is provided by a 283ci Power Pack V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Underhood features include manual steering and brakes, electric windshield wipers, and a closed-element air cleaner.

This Chevrolet is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. The frame and suspension components have been refinished in semi-gloss black. The underbody is finished in reddish brown. A full-length dual-exhaust system with aluminum Flowmaster mufflers exits at the rear. Braking is handled by manual drum brakes. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the carousel to the right.

Nice passenger side hood gap on there. Emphasis on gap. Explain why the e-brake cables are rubbing the exhaust pipes and mufflers? Absolutely no word on whether (and who) rebuilt the engine, trans, and serviced the rear end. Dents in the gas tank. Fluid leak on the trans. Rattle can silver on the trans. Couldn't bother to rechrome outside door handles and hood ornaments. Scrape off of rust and rattle can respray of suspension components and front member. Boring non-factory color. But y'all have fun redoing all the stuff wrong we can't see. Good luck with that. pass
