Vehicle Story

This customized 1970 Ford F100 Ranger XLT is a reportedly $58,000 build that receives power from a 460ci V8 paired with a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. It comes with amenities including air conditioning, disc brakes, American Racing wheels, and a Bluetooth-compatible audio system. Finished in an Audi shade of over a two-tone black and red Katzkin leather interior, this fifth-generation F-Series is now offered with restoration records and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

The F-Series lineup of full-size pickups aged into its fifth generation in 1967 and offered revised styling and a slightly larger cab on the same platform as the previous generation. Trim changes in the following years included the addition of side marker lights, redesigned hood emblems, and a new grille. This rust-free F100 long-bed from 1970 was kept in the same family until 2017 before being acquired by the seller and fully restored. The exterior was resprayed in an Audi shade of red and outfitted with brightwork for the bumpers, grille, mirror caps, handles, and polished side-exit exhaust outlets. The seller has provided photos from the restoration process in the gallery to the right.

American Racing aluminum five-spoke wheels with polished lips are wrapped in tires that were replaced within the last 2,000 miles.

The refurbished cab has Ranger XLT equipment and a reupholstered two-tone red and black Katzkin leather bench seat with a matching dashboard, complemented by charcoal carpeting. Amenities include tinted windows, a Bluetooth-connected sound system with speakers behind the seat, a Vintage Air air conditioning system, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. According to the seller, the sound system has a market value of $6,000.

Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five odometer reads 2,500 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The upgraded 460ci V8 features chrome Ford Racing valve covers, an MSD ignition system, a reworked electrical system, and a custom Flowmaster exhaust with cutouts. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted C6 3-speed automatic transmission.

The lowered suspension and disc braking systems received maintenance as part of the restoration effort. The brake rotors are both cross-drilled and slotted for ventilation. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes restoration records such as photos and receipts.
