Vehicle Story

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro two-door custom is a first-generation convertible that blends muscle car style with modern conveniences and is powered by a GM crate motor 350ci V8 with a 4-bolt main running through an overdrive automatic transmission. This F-body has been outfitted with a replacement interior that offers bolstered bucket seats, embroidered floor mats, full gauges, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. Chassis architecture benefits from a Heidts control arm suspension and fully adjustable coil-overs. Finished in Blue Metallic with dual black stripes over black leather seating, this customized first-generation Camaro is now offered with a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The Camaro first launched in 1967 on the General Motors F-body platform as a two-door pony car in hardtop or convertible form, and in 1969 the body received all-new sheetmetal except for the hood and trunk lid. The refresh brought a wider, lower aesthetic to the design. This example was repainted in Blue Metallic with black accent stripes and a black power-operated convertible top. The body is described as being straight and corrosion-free, and wearing SS logos on the grille and rear deck, fog lamps, bright trim with bumper guards, and a flush-mounted trunk lip spoiler.

Chrome-finished five-spoke SKOP wheels are wrapped in new tires. Underpinnings are comprised of a Heidts tubular control arm suspension, fully adjustable coil-overs, and rack and pinion steering. The braking system received similar upgrades, handled by blue-finished Wilwood calipers, four-wheel power-assisted discs, and cross-drilled and slotted brake rotors.

The interior is fitted with replacement bolstered leather bucket seats with blue contrast SS branding in the backrests and blue Matrix safety harnesses. The remainder of the cabin is trimmed in black, including SS-embroidered floor mats and Camaro script on the dash. Amenities include a center console, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a radio.

Instrumentation is delivered via a set of factory-style Rallye gauges with a 120-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, analog clock, and additional readouts at the top of the center console for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The cluster has a five-digit mechanical odometer, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The crate 350ci V8 4-bolt main is fuel-injected and features an Accel electronic ignition system, dress-up engine bay accents including matte-black valve covers and air cleaner, stainless-steel braided hoses, and more. Power is fed to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission and a Ford 9” four-link rear end.
