Vehicle Story

This 1986 Mercedes-Benz 560SL roadster is located in Austin, Texas and is offered with both the retractable soft top and body-matching red removable hardtop as well as a recently refreshed interior. Power comes from an M117 5.5L V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission and the odometer displays a total of 83,000 miles driven. The car is now offered at auction with a clean Texas title in the seller's name.

Finished in Signal Red (cc: DB-568), the R107 roadster chassis and exterior features both hard and soft convertible tops along with chrome and black accent and trim pieces. Additionally, the car is equipped with standard rubber bumpers, twin fog lamps and tinted window glass on the hardtop.

Power steering is equipped to handle the factory 15-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in blackwalled tires over a set of power brakes on all four corners. Suspension consists of a fully independent system front and rear with anti-lock brakes fitted as standard for the model year.

The interior was recently refreshed and comes outfitted in tan leather throughout with matching carpeting and a black dash pad with woodgrain accent panels. Equipment includes automatic climate control, cruise control, AM/FM stereo, heater/defroster and air conditioning.

Instrumentation is mounted behind the factory 4-spoke steering wheel and includes a 170-mph speedometer with an odometer that reads approximately 83,000 miles according to the seller. Dials for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure and temperature, and an analog clock can be found as well along with a 7k-rpm tachometer.

The 5.5L M117 V8 was capable of producing 238hp from the factory due to a sophisticated Bosch fuel injection system and 4-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports no issues with the drivetrain and states that the buyer of the car is in for a treat for years to come.
