1947 Ford Super Deluxe

This 1947 Ford Super Deluxe two-door coupe was the recipient of a restoration in 2008 and has been garage-kept since, receiving modern conveniences such as power brakes, a Vintage Air climate-control system, gloss woodgrain interior accents, and a Sony audio system. Power comes from a replacement 302ci V8 with a high-performance camshaft that is mated to a 3-speed C4 automatic transmission. Finished in Beige Metallic over a reupholstered tan and cloth interior, this coupe is now offered with restoration documentation, service records, and a clear California title in the seller’s name.

The 1947 model year brought about various changes to Ford coupe aesthetics, including moving the parking lights from above the grille to below each headlight and changing the texture of the side moldings. This two-door exhibits a coupe body style with a two-piece windshield and is painted a custom shade of Beige Metallic, with accompanying accent striping. A frame-off build was completed in 2008 that encompassed a full refurbishment of the exterior finishes, and the chrome and other bright trim elements are noted to be in good condition including the bumpers, headlight rings, grille, and dual polished exhaust outlets below the rear bumper.

Five-spoke polished aluminum American Racing wheels are mounted to newer Hankook tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes, with architecture sourced from a Ford Mustang II for the front end.

The interior provides reupholstered tan vinyl and cloth tan combination seating with a fold-down armrest, added shoulder belts, matching door panels, replacement carpeting, and a center console with dual cup holders. The dash and door panels are accented in gloss woodgrain trim, and additional amenities include a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, power windows, a newer Sony AM/FM/CD stereo, and a Vintage Air A/C system. The trunk is fully carpeted.

Instrumentation includes aftermarket gauges with a 120-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The cluster has a replacement digital odometer, and true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The replacement 302ci V8 has been upgraded with a high-performance camshaft and a chrome-finished Ford Racing air cleaner. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 3-speed C4 automatic transmission and a 9” rear end.
