This 1992 Chevrolet Corvette features a removal fiberglass roof panel and has accumulated 36,500 kilometers (22,600 miles) since new, powered by a 5.7-liter LT1 V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. This C4 passed a recent safety inspection and was serviced in June 2021, receiving new front tires, a new battery, and replacement fluids. Finished in Brilliant Red Metallic over a black leather interior, this Corvette is now offered with a CARFAX report and a clear Manitoba registration in the seller’s name.
The fourth-generation Corvette debuted for the model year 1984 with molded plastic bumpers and panels in place of fiberglass used in prior versions. The body style became known as a fastback coupe, featuring a glass hatchback for better storage access. This example from 1992 is painted Brilliant Red Metallic (75) with a color-matched removable roof panel and is said to display good cosmetic condition throughout. The exterior features pop-up headlamps, daytime running lamps, vented front fenders, color-matched bodyside moldings, and dual rectangular exhaust tips at the rear.
Cast-aluminum 17” directional wheels are mounted to 275/40-series tires, with the front tires having been replaced in June 2021. Handling is assisted by power steering and four-wheel power anti-lock disc brakes, and the suspension is an independent front with a five-link rear. Traction control became standard for the 1992 model year.
The interior is fitted with dual black leather bucket seats and matching materials for the door panels, center console, dashboard, and carpeting. A newer radio is installed, and additional amenities include a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, power windows, power door locks, intermittent windshield wipers, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The seller notes that the air conditioning is not currently working.
Instrumentation includes a digital speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and additional gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 36,500 kilometers (approximately 22k miles) which is a true reading per the seller.
The 5.7-liter LT1 V8 features multi-port fuel injection and was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque when new. The motor was serviced within the last five weeks, receiving a safety inspection and a replacement battery. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
