1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe

This 1932 Ford 5-window two-door coupe was the product of a custom 1960s build and retains a largely original steel body with long-term racing history. The car was purchased by the current owner's husband in 2013, after which a mechanical rebuild was performed. Power is provided by a replacement big-block 409ci V8 paired with a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. The build included the installation of full instrumentation, a cloth roof, and performance components such as Hedman headers, Weiand valve covers, and a Painless wiring system. Finished in silver over a two-tone red and white vinyl interior, this coupe is now offered with documentation and a clear Montana title in the owner’s name.

This coupe underwent a rebuild in the 1960s and was driven on the race circuit during that timeframe. The exterior retains an original steel body, hood, deck lid, and fenders, and while not known if original, the glass is free of cracks or chips. The silver paint job dates back to the same era, with some aspects of the exterior remaining unfinished, showing blemishes and patina. Brightwork consists of front and rear bumpers, headlight housings, handles, and additional trim. The photo carousel illustrates cosmetic wear areas on the exterior, in particular the surround for the cloth top and the condition of the older repaint.

Polished aluminum 15” American Racing wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The original frame was updated with front and rear suspension components from Pete & Jake’s, and the front brake setup is comprised of cross-drilled rotors gripped by Wilwood calipers.

The interior has a reupholstered vinyl bench seat in two-tone red and white that dates back to the 1960s. The door panels are finished in matching materials with a V-pattern, the metal dash has been painted gray, and the flooring is metal. Other features include a three-spoke aluminum leather-wrapped steering wheel, a skull shift knob, and turn signals. Carousel photos show interior blemishes, wear, and discoloration consistent with age and use.

Instrumentation consists of a set of aftermarket SW gauges and includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and readouts for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure, as well as redundant gauges located beneath the dash at the driver side. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 4k miles, though true chassis mileage is unknown. The seller notes that of the dash gauges only the tachometer and fuel indicator are connected, while the under dash units are all functional and offer correct readings for temperature, voltage, and oil pressure.

The big-block 409ci V8 was installed in 1969 and it is reported to have been rebuilt in 2013 and running well. Features include twin four-barrel carburetors, Weiand valve covers, Hedman headers, and a Painless wiring system. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a replacement Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and a Ford 9” rear end.
